    Eric Chacón

    Eric Chacón, Venezuelan musician with a Bachelor in academic flute, (UNEARTE) began his musical studies at the age of eight. La Rinconada within the system of children’s and youth orchestras of Venezuela. From 1993 to 1997 he studied flute, piano, saxophone, choir, orchestral practice and theory and solfeggio. In 1998, he joined the Venezuelan National Children’s Orchestra through a national competition, where he remained until 2003 when he became a part of the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra.

Eric Chacón, Venezuelan musician with a Bachelor in Academic flute, (UNEARTE) began his musical studies at the age of 8 years in the nucleus La Rinconada within the system of children’s and youth orchestras of Venezuela, in that period from 1993 to 1997 is part of the groups of that nucleus in addition to study flute, piano, saxophone, choir, orchestral practice and theory and solfeggio. In 1998, he joined the Venezuelan National Children’s Orchestra through a national competition, where he remained from his childhood until 2003, when he became the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra. During this period, he toured Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Holland and Austria. He has studied with the most important flute masters of Venezuela José García Guerrero, Pedro Eustache , Rene Orea, Andrés Eloy Rodríguez and with the masters Philipe Bernold,Davide Formisano, Peter Lukas Graf, Michael Hasel, William Bennett , Marco Zoni, among many others. He has performed as an academic flute soloist in many opportunities with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, Caracas Youth Orchestra, Táchira State Symphony Orchestra, Yaracuy State Symphony Orchestra and other important orchestras in the country.

Within popular music, he has made 8 albums with his project as a soloist: Choroni (2008) Esplendida Noche (2010) Flautistico (2014) and Charangoza All Star de Venezuela (2015), Wachafita (2017) Mestizo (2020) Cosmic 305 (2021)  Classical Collection (2022). As a popular musician he studied with the most important teachers of Venezuela in the genre of jazz at the (IUDEM) University Institute of Musical Studies being Pablo Gil his mentor for a period of 5 years he studied jazz piano, modern harmony, jazz flute,saxofon improvisation, jazz ensemble, history of jazz. As a pedagogue he made more than 100 master classes in Venezuela, as well as an international teaching work with the Venezuelan wind quintet founded in 2000 with which he made concerts and master classes in all the places of the world in which they were presented. He has participated in different festivals and concerts with the Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York, USA), at the NYU Auditorium (New York, USA), Jordan Hall (Boston, USA), Rosslyn Spectrum (Washington), Miami Dade College (Miami), Garonne Jazz Festival (France), Limonest Conservatory (Lyon, France), Lombard Club (Paris, France). He has performed in Venezuela and abroad with his project and as part of others, Festival Jazz al Parque (Bogotá Colombia) Heineken Jazz Festival (Bonaire) Barquisimeto Jazz Festival, Naguanagua Jazz Festival, Hatillo Jazz Festival, Orinoco Jazz Festival and in the experimental music and fusion cycles of the most important venues in Caracas and Venezuela.

He has had the opportunity to participate in more than 200 record productions and more than 20 videos with recognized artists in Venezuela and the world, the most outstanding being the album Treasures of Venezuela, winner of the Latin Grammy 2010 (Ilan Chester), Marc Anthony for Babies, winner of the Latin Grammy 2017 (Nacho,  Marc Anthony), Latin Grammy 2018 winner (Miguel Siso), and more than my Latin Grammy 2019 winner (Tony Succar), the album nominated for the Latin Grammy Simplemente la Verdad 2011 (Franco de Vita) Sotavento 2020 (Compasses de Venezuela ). Winner of the Pepsi award for best jazz song of 2015(Adios nonino) winner of the Pepsi award for the best world music album, artist and song 2021   (Mestizo) and nominated for best salsa album with his band Charangoza all Star (2016).
