Beyond Imagination

“I was looking for an instrument that could accomplish my fantasy of playing like a violin. Miyazawa already had a worldwide reputation when I bought my flute, so I had high expectations. When I received my flute, it was beyond imagination. Vibrations powerful yet light. Responsiveness and accuracy that I can push beyond any limit. Beautiful sculptured details…a jewel in my hands that was alive and spoke to me. Thank you for making flutes that are living beings with a long and prosperous future.”

Miyazawa Jubilation Series

A new era inspired by legacy, community, and the joy of musical growth.

For well over half century, Miyazawa has been known for craftsmanship, innovation, and a deeply held belief that music connects people. In 2025, we celebrated one of the longest-standing and most meaningful partnerships in the music industry: the relationship between Miyazawa Flutes Mfg. Co., Ltd. and West Music Company, the parent company of Miyazawa US under the Flute Authority umbrella. For over 50 years, this partnership has championed flutists in every stage of their musical journey, encouraging excellence, nurturing dreams, and creating a true community of musicians.

To honor this shared history, we commissioned an original flute choir piece from composer Marcus Moore titled “Jubilation” to represent the celebration of connection and the joy that comes from making music together. The piece premiered at the 2025 National Flute Association convention, performed by Miyazawa Artists, symbolizing not just where we have been, but where we are going. Interested in listening to or purchasing the “Jubilation” score? Introducing the Miyazawa Jubilation Series

Designed for flutists who are ready for more – more color, more freedom, more possibility.

The Miyazawa Jubilation Series was created to open the door to the Miyazawa Family, offering a level of care, responsiveness, and artistry that supports where you are now, and where you’re going.

Each flute is crafted with care in a dedicated workshop and finished in Japan to meet Miyazawa’s exacting standards, so you can play with confidence from your very first note.

The Miyazawa Jubilation Series is for the flutist who is ready to grow, ready to express, and ready to become part of something bigger. It’s more than an instrument – it’s a welcome into the Miyazawa family.

We offer two models: one with a solid sterling silver headjoint, and one with a solid sterling silver headjoint and body.

Both models include a Split E Mechanism as standard, helping support a more stable third-octave E. A C# Trill key is also available as an optional upgrade.

FAQ’s

Are the Miyazawa Jubilation Flutes Handmade?

Yes! They are crafted in a dedicated workshop in China that Mr. Miyazawa has personally worked with for years, then they are sent to Miyazawa in Japan for final setup, adjustment, and regulation. This keeps the instruments consistent and reliable.

What is the Jubilation Headjoint Design?

These handmade headjoints are a special design based on years of testing and feedback. The headjoint taper is the same as the Japan-made models. They are designed to bring maximum flexibility, consistency, and control for the Jubilation models specifically. We call them the “MJ style”.

What’s the Difference Between MJ SH and MJ ST?

MJ SH = silver headjoint, great for students stepping up from a beginner flute.

MJ ST = silver headjoint + silver body tubing, offers a richer sound and more room for growth.

Why Choose Jubilation?

These flutes deliver the material upgrades many players want, supported by Miyazawa design and Japanese final adjustment:

  • Premium materials for the investment: These models make it possible to move into a solid silver headjoint or solid silver body and headjoint flute at a more attainable price point. If your budget is focused on maximizing material upgrades, the Miyazawa Jubilation Series delivers exceptional value.
  • Miyazawa design philosophy: including quality materials, scale design, response, headjoint design, sound/nuances, and comfort. Players experience many of the characteristics that have made Miyazawa respected worldwide.
  • Japanese final adjustment: Every Miyazawa Jubilation flute receives it’s final adjustment in Japan, followed by an additional inspection and play-testing in the U.S. It’s an extra level of care that helps ensure that each instrument delivers the consistency, reliability, and playing experience flutists expect from Miyazawa.

Many pre-professional flutes feel like incremental improvements, but the Miyazawa Jubilation Series creates a noticeable difference. The combination of premium materials, Miyazawa design, and Japanese final setup provides an exceptional value as well as a meaningful step forward in tone, response, and projection that is difficult to find elsewhere.

Rich Sound, Smooth Mechanism, Right Balance

“When I decided to buy a new flute, I spent about a year and a half searching, trying all kinds of different instruments. I was not satisfied with anything until I decided to try Miyazawa. There I found what I had been looking for: a rich flexible sound, a smooth even mechanism, and the right balance between power and sensitivity. I love my Miyazawa!”
