Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich, hailed for her “tonal sweetness and fleet execution” by the South Florida Classical Review and described by The Flutist Quarterly as “technically clean and precise, musically expressive, and stylistically satisfying,” is an acclaimed flutist and chamber musician. She is a Miyazawa Artist and a Trevor James Alto Flute Artist, known for her expressive tone, technical precision, and stylistic versatility.
She serves as principal flutist with the Butler Symphony Orchestra (Butler, PA) and has performed with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Florida Sunshine Pops, New World Symphony, Westmoreland Symphony, and Resonance Works. She has collaborated and recorded with artists including George Benson, Michael Feinstein, Dave Grusin, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mark O’Connor, Terence Blanchard, Jon Secada, Patti Austin, Arturo Sandoval, Nestor Torres, Sammy Figueroa, Pharrell Williams, Josh Groban, Lou Gramm, and with groups including The Jacksons, Evanescence, Take 6, Il Volo, and Tiempo Libre.
An active chamber musician, Dr. Eisenreich performs with the BETA Quartet and is a passionate advocate for new music. She regularly commissions, premieres, and records works by emerging and established composers, presenting them nationally and internationally. Her performances have been featured at conferences, festivals, and prestigious venues, including a world premiere at the Ghent Opera House in Belgium.
In addition to her performance career, Dr. Eisenreich is a sought-after clinician and masterclass presenter, engaging students, ensembles, and professional musicians across the country. She directs the Honors Flute Ensemble at Slippery Rock University, which has premiered over 25 new works, offering students the opportunity to collaborate with living composers and engage with contemporary repertoire. As a teacher, her students consistently win national competitions and are admitted to highly selective music programs and festivals, reflecting her dedication to nurturing the next generation of flutists. She served as chair of the National Flute Association Pedagogy Committee, leading a dedicated team to publish a diverse list of graded repertoire and studies, helping flute teachers at all levels select inclusive and engaging literature. She is a GRAMMY-nominated educator, a recipient of the Yamaha 40 Under 40 award, and has been recognized nationally for her innovative contributions to music education.
Dr. Eisenreich has won national and international competitions through the National Flute Association and International Low Flute Festival, earning recognition for both solo and ensemble performances. Her playing is celebrated for its artistry, versatility, and commitment to musical storytelling.
