Flutist and composer Cathy Collinge Herrera is one of Miyazawa’s original Performing Artists, beginning her career (with model #428!) as Principal Flutist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional of Peru where Lima’s El Comercio described her as “an artist with a sweet and seductive sound”. Continuing her versatile roles as soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, she has held performing and teaching positions in the U.S., Australia and Peru, serves as an Artistic Ambassador for U.S. Embassies and Fulbright Foundation, and is a founder of the Latin American flute festival scene. Her book, “It’s Performance Day! Success in the Spotlight” highlights interviews with 80 flutists from 26 countries, many of whom are Miyazawa Artists.
